Wood Effect Powder Coating

Based in Dubai, UAE, AL Firdous is committed to operating in an environmentally responsible manner. We continuously strive to minimize our carbon emissions and reduce energy consumption. In line with this vision, we have introduced a new surface finishing solution – wood effect powder coating.

This innovative finish allows customers to give virtually any metal item the appearance of natural wood, blending visual appeal with structural performance.

Wood Effect Powder Coating

By combining metal durability with wood aesthetics, AL Firdous wood effect powder coating provides a unique advantage over traditional timber.

Each finish replicates genuine wood grain, texture, and tone — from light oak to rich walnut.

These coatings also offer excellent UV protection and help conserve global forest resources by reducing demand for real wood.

Preparation and Coating

The wood powder coating process begins with a chemical conversion treatment on a raw mill finish aluminum substrate, forming a thin amorphous oxide layer.

A polyester powder base coat (60–90 microns thick, VOC-free) is electrostatically applied and cured at 210–220°C for 20–30 minutes. This forms a solid, durable finish that resists weather, corrosion, and abrasion.

Sublimation

A pre-printed heat transfer film containing organic pigments is wrapped around the product, which is placed on a vacuum-enabled trolley.

The vacuum system ensures smooth transfer. Items are then heat-treated in an oven, causing the pigments to bond to the coated substrate. The pattern is permanently fixed upon cooling.
